July Income Report

Hey guys,

In this email:

  • July income report
  • Digital products progress
  • A mindset update

Income Report

Last month was a really bad month.

I’ve been avoiding looking at the numbers because I knew they would be bad.

The niche site was smashed to pieces.

It has been shadow banned by Pinterest and now hammered by Google. It’s down from $2,000 months to $800 last month.

Here’s the revenue:

  • YouTube Channel 1: $117.37 (adsense) + $223 (digital products)
  • YouTube Channel 2: $1157.42 (adsense)
  • YouTube Channel 3: $204.87 (adsense)
  • Niche Site: $803.31 (mediavine)

July Total: $2505.97

Here’s the year to date:

  • January: $2283.66
  • February: $3189.12
  • March: $4311.43
  • April: $4140.18
  • May: $4044.69 + $3025 (digital product launch)
  • June: $3854.08
  • July: $2505.97

2025 Year to Date: $27,354.13

Digital products progress…

Two big (but also small) things have happened in the past 6 weeks since my last update:

  • Trademark approval: My digital products are mostly built off the back of other businesses. For example: Training materials on how to use Canva. I looked up the website for the business (e.g. Canva – but it’s not Canva) and they had some documentation about how you’re not allowed to use their trademark in your product names, youtube videos, etc. eeesh!!! So, I reached out to them to try to secure trademark approval. They asked to view all my materials – and they approved them! They’ve given me license to continue to sell my digital products so long as I included a bunch of disclaimers and change the title from (for example) “How to do X on Canva” to “Niche Safari’s Guide on How to do X on Canva”. Huge relief!

  • Course complete: I’ve “soft launched” my course. I’m really proud of it. But … I’m starting from scratch. I currently have a grand total of 1 email subscriber who opted into my lead magnet. The reason I build the course first was that I needed to learn about the topic before I could create content on it. The course was my way of learning about it. The hard part: now I need to build an audience. F*ck. (I wasn’t totally naive – I’ve sold crappy digital products in this niche before, and I know they sell. So a great offer in the niche should do really well).

My mindset…

I really (really) hope that I can stop reporting on my income from my crappy niche site and YouTube channels. In 2026, I want to be sending you income reports on my digital product sales!

Despite a really quiet few months, I’ve done a lot of internal work. I’ve stopped frantically banging out useless videos and expecting a different result. I’m focused on how I can create value for my audiences and give them amazing offers to help solve their pain points.

Sometimes, it feels like “chewing glass and staring into the abyss”. Most days, I feel like a complete failure. But I’m also learning – a lot – and trying new things. This path back to success has been so much harder than I expected, but I know I’ll make it out the other end eventually.

Happy August.

Chris.
